exercises 2.3.1 q29!!!!!!!!!!!!

reg1965
Hi
I am at a loss as to the construction of the quadratic in the answer from the combination of adding the squared linear function to the parent quadratic function.

Could someone help me with the reasoning for this?

Cheers
Steve

Hello!

A point on the line y=2x+1 has the form (x, 2x+1)...  so use that as one point in the distance formula (with the origin, (0,0)) as the other.

Hope that helps!
